Final Fantasy XII

I finally bit and decided to go visit Sky Fortress Bahamut if only for the fact that my dad decided to hang out downstairs, and would end up commenting on EVERYTHING. (He already hates Persona 3 because, "What's with this stupid shooting in the head? Bla bla bla CHILDREN CAN EMULATE THIS BEHAVIOUR, NO I DON'T CARE THAT IT'S A MATURE GAME.") And hey, the ending to FFXII is guaranteed to have LOTS of pretty scenes and interesting political exemplum, so!

I've finally finished the game. Spoilers ho.

I will say now, I've been putting off Bahamut because I was running around doing all the side quests. I'd finally corked that sonuvabitch Fafnir and was traipsing around looking for the Wind Vane + Earth Tyrant before I said, "Screw it. Let's go BAHAMUT," with my dad dutifully frowning at the TV as I ran around in the sand.

Dear god, he loves Noah/Gabranth and Basch. He keeps asking about them. When he missed the epic brotherly BATTLE (he went to the mosque), he was actually kind of disappointed. He was quite impressed with the fact that Basch ended up replacing Noah as Larsa's bodyguard. Also, Basch you are a handsome, sexy beast.

To be frank, Bahamut was just a matter of a curaja now and again since my party was level 75. So I fought a little here and there and just enjoyed the cutscenes.

Admittedly, I freaked out once. And that was when my battle screen froze (music still played) somewhere before the lift where you fight Gabranth. I quickly restarted the game and decided not to linger with the sissy Judges.

I am satisfied. Very satisfied. Wish I remembered the plot, but hey! That's what Youtube is for.

I WISH there was a New Game + Data for FFXII (not the Japanese Zodiac International version okay) because I'd be more than willing to frolic through the game again. I'm just less willing when all my impressive stats and hunts and equipment and all my 140 hours of levelling and AUTO-LEVELLING go bye-bye.

Grinding in FFXII is the bitchiest bitch to ever BITCH.

(Persona 3 FES comes a little close.)

Okay. Now, I can finally play Revenant Wings! I'd been looking forward to that. :D
